Local Government guidance to support child and youth wellbeing

We have worked with Taituarā (previously known as SOLGM) to co-design guidance to help council staff view wellbeing from the perspective of children, young people and their families. Councils have also contributed to the development of the guidance, and have shared resources, initiatives, plans and policies specifically focussed on supporting child and youth wellbeing, so that we can showcase examples of how this is already being done.

The guidance deliberately takes a ‘pick and mix’ approach, recognising that Councils have different situations determining how they operate in the child and youth wellbeing space.
